I was born in Kingston, Jamaica, West Indies on October 7, 1965 and later migrated to the United States of America to reside with my parents and other siblings. I attended Olinville Junior High School and Fiorello LaGuardia High School of Music and Arts respectively. I enrolled at The City College of New York to pursue my degree in engineering and later transferred to The New York University to pursue a degree in Real Estate Finance and Construction Management, graduating with a 4.0 GPA.
My first job was at the prestigious firm of Prudential-Bache Securities and after 5 years of service, I moved on to work for companies such as Proskauer, Rose, Goetz and Mendelsohn and Coopers & Lybrand. Ambitiously driven, I secured the position of Worldwide Distribution Manager, at Time Incorporated, managing a staff of 90. After many years of service with Time, Inc. I was lured away by Canon Incorporated’s Business Services Division to the position of Operations Manager. In this capacity, I interviewed, hired and trained managers and staff on a domestic level. After three years with Canon, I left to form my own business L. Brown Consulting Services, a home remodeling and construction business.
Currently, I am the Assistant Ministries Director and Youth Sabbath School Teacher at The North Bronx Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Bronx, New York. Being a dedicated vegetarian and avid bible student, I have committed myself to the Lord’s service. Along this vein, I have launched a ministry called “Seek & Save” and am writing and recording spiritual songs. It is my desire to help others which has led me to become an active part of organization such as “Loving Hands of Hope” and “Hope for Humanity.”
